Mayor gets thanks for pulling resolution

Taylor Viydo/KREM 2 (@KREMTaylor) tweeted the following letter send by Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler to new Sandpoint Mayor Shelby Rognstad following decision to hold a proposed pro-Syrian refugee resolution by City Council last night:

Thank you for pausing before passing the highly inflammatory City resolution. It is nice that a large number of people have compassion for people that are displaced by war, however, your resolution has a central flaw. Just because a Washington website declares that people entering this country have been “properly vetted,” nothing could be further from the truth. The experience with recent terrorists and quotes from the President’s own administration contradict this notion. The vetting system is broken.”
