Landscaping a key

I agree with the resolution that Amanda Parrish mentioned in the Dec. 27 The Spokesman Review (“2016 Wish List”). Parrish is the watershed program manager for the Lands Council. She states that new water management measures need to be enacted.

I applaud developers, schools, new businesses, etc. for the landscaping they are doing to help make Spokane green. Many people may not realize, however, that by planting indigenous plants _ trees, shrubs, etc. _ native to our area, much less irrigation is needed. Non-native species require more irrigation.
