As I stepped into an elevator at Kootenai Health this week, I noticed 2 women looking at a front page story in the Coeur d’Alene Press. “They’re cutting down more trees,” said one in an accusatory tone re: the city. I probably should have let it go. But I didn’t. “Don’t blame the city this time,” I said re: the news that FEMA is forcing the city to cut down 10 trees between Northwest Boulevard and the North Idaho Museum (today, I think). “The feds are making them do it.”Hey, it’s the least I could do after using the city as a punching bag for months re: that Dike Road tree over-cut last year.
