Customers can be nicer

Regarding “Is thank you extinct? (Jan. 11)”: Maybe the retail clerks are sick and tired of people being totally rude to them. Maybe the customer should say thank you to the retail clerks and not be rude, and expect clerks to bow down to the customer.
