Scott releases permitless carry draft
Reps. Ron Nate and Heather Scott have released their draft legislation on “constitutional carry,” or allowing people to carry concealed guns without a concealed-weapons permit. The draft just adds this line to the list of places where current concealed-weapon permit requirements don’t apply: “Outside the confines of any building within city limits.” Idaho’s law already allows concealed weapons without a permit outside of city limits; that change was made as part of a recent revamp of the state’s gun laws, which previously exempted people from concealed-weapon permit requirements while they were outdoors hunting, fishing or engaging in other such pursuits/ Betsy Russell , Eye on Boise. Question: Will this bill pass the Idaho Legislature?
