Clinton’s attacks are sick

Hillary Clinton’s attacks on Bernie Sanders’ support of universal health care are misleading, disingenuous and a lie. Hillary has stated recently that Bernie wants to get rid of Medicare, CHIP, Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. This is false.

When we talk about universal health care, what we mean is taking all of these programs and going further by guaranteeing health care for every citizen of this country. Every other industrialized nation in the world guarantees health care as a right except ours.

In 2008, when campaigning against Barack Obama, Hillary had this to say, “Since when do Democrats attack one another on universal health care? I thought we were trying to realize Harry Truman’s dream. I thought this campaign finally gave us an opportunity to put together a coalition to achieve universal health care.”

Now, it’s 2016, and since 2008 she has received over $2.8 million in speaking fees from the health care industry.

Universal health care means no more premiums, deductibles or co-pays. And we can end the absurdity of paying a higher price on prescription drugs than any other country. Plus, single-payer health care is projected to be cheaper over 10 years than our current broken system.
