More than ‘error in judgment’
It’s shocking that for over two years an impostor, Dr. Rajeev Rajendra, has been providing oncologic services in Spokane when that doctor has not been certified to treat those cancer patients. But it’s flabbergasting that Arvind Chaudhry, principal at Medical Oncology Associates, believes that Rajendra is guilty merely of “an error in judgment.”
Chaudhry goes on to say that Rajendra “never took care of a patient all alone, by himself.” I do not believe that.
Rajendra failed his board examination in 2013 and again in 2014. But in Chaudhry’s eyes, Rajendra could perform professional services as an oncologist at their firm. (The firm knew in early 2015 that Rajendra was not board certified, but permitted him to practice until November.) That’s thumbing your nose at the very idea of certifying specialists.
Chaundhry compounds his faulty thinking by not notifying hospitals of Rajendra’s lack of certification on the premise that Rajendra misrepresented his lack of credentials only to Medical Oncology Associates.
It seems to me that Medical Oncology Associates should be looked into to determine if some regulatory action is warranted. I only hope that Chaundhry is correct that no patient was endangered by Rajendra.
