Wild Card/Monday — 1.25.16
Sometimes, I’m observant. Sometimes not. In a Sunday morning walk with Huckleberry, Mrs. O asked me to name the court near our house that we were passing. I had no idea what the court’s name was — Rueben — although I had passed it hundreds of times over the years. Later in the day, a friend was mentioning some oldies but goodies that he’d heard on the radio recently, including the Coasters 1959 single, “Along Came Jones.” And I remembered the chorus: “And then along came Jones/Tall, thin Jones/Slow-walkin’ Jones/Slow-talkin’ Jones/Along came long, lean, lanky Jones.” I’m amazed at the type of trivia that sticks in my head. And the kind that doesn’t. Here’s today’s Wild Card …
