McLaughlin responsive
Sun., July 17, 2016
I am writing to urge the electors of Spokane County to vote for Nancy McLaughlin, County Commissioner, Position 1. I am a retired county commissioner from Oregon, and I served a year as president of the Oregon State Association of Counties.
I know what it takes to be an effective public servant, and I believe Nancy McLaughlin has what it takes. She has already proven herself on both the city and county governing boards, she has been active at the state level in city and county associations, and she understands that governing effectively is more than political positioning.
Here’s what impresses me most. Returning home from church several weeks ago, I discovered Nancy’s flier on my doorstep with a handwritten note about coming while I was away. I called to talk with her and reached her voicemail.
Several days later, I was greatly surprised to find her responding to my message by coming to see me in person and spending time to visit with me about my perspectives and opinions.
This is the kind of person we want in leadership positions in local government. Vote to retain Nancy McLaughlin.
