Idaho should protect citizens
Yes, we live in a time when efforts to protect the “different” have become paramount. At the same time, seldom are mandated requirements practical or even necessary. Unfortunately, our elected leaders and their surrogates have decided to define wrongs rather than to identify them.
Worse yet, their decisions often have unintended consequences. Did these people ever think about the cost of compliance, the reaction of parents or even the involvement of transgender students in athletics?
I’m curious as to how the WIAA will record a new state record for girls in the javelin in the near future after this requirement is further defined. By then we will have forgotten about where they all dress before and after the meet and which toilet they use.
No, Idaho shouldn’t discriminate, but it should protect all of its citizens, just as the state of Washington should. Keep it up, Idaho.
