When did Idaho join Sagebrush rebels?
In his Sunday column, Opinion Writer Marty Trillhaase of the Lewiston Tribune comments:
Last month, 73 percent of Idahoans told pollster Dan Jones and Associates they support the state taking control of the 34.5 million acres of federal lands within their borders. That’s right. Nearly three out of four. No wonder that poll has got people rattled. Talk about a stunning reversal of public opinion shaping up within only a matter of months. If true, Idahoans have abandoned more than four decades of reticence toward the so-called Sagebrush Rebellion because they fear the loss of access to those lands. Just a year ago, Jones measured a bare 51 percent supporting a lands transfer. Elsewhere, Republican pollster Bob Moore — in a 2012 project commissioned by the Idaho Outdoor Business Council — reported 73 percent of Idahoans agreed that the feds do a good job of managing “forests, national parks and other public lands.” More here.
Question: Do you think Idaho, as a whole, has joined the Sagebrush Rebellion?
