Q’emiln launch, beach to open Friday
The Q’emiln boat launch and swimming beach are scheduled to open on Friday, June 10th at 9am. Avista announced that river flows at the Post Falls Dam have dropped sufficiently to allow all the spillgates at the hydroelectric facility to be closed. Post Falls Parks Dept. will have the boat launch and beach area ready to open at 9 Friday morning. Located at the south end of the Spokane Street Bridge, the park features a swimming beach, boat launch, BBQ pits, picnic shelters, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, concession stand, restrooms, and a 40-acre trail system. There are two small covered shelters (the Gazebo & Picnic Shelter), a large covered Grand Pavilion 60’x120’, the Trailhead Pavilion, and grassy areas available for picnic reservations. Dogs are not allowed at the beach and park. For information and reservations call Post Falls Recreation Department, 773-0539.
