Q’Emiln beach, launch open Friday

The city of Post Falls reports: "For those of you wanting to know when the boat launch at Q'emiln Park will be opened ... Avista will not authorize the City to open the boat launch until water levels in the Spokane River are at safe levels. We anticipate a mid-June opening." (City of Post Falls photo)

The beach and boat launch at Q’Emiln Park in Post Falls will open Friday at 9 a.m. According to a release from the City of Post Falls, Avista Utilities has announced river flows at the Post Falls Dam have dropped significantly so the spillgates at the hydroelectric facility can be closed.
