Don’t endorse candidates

Add Spokesman-Review on Google

Several weeks ago, readers were asked if they thought it was a good thing for The Spokesman’s editorial board of two to make recommendations for elective offices. The survey showed most people thought it was okay.

A newspaper’s responsibility is to provide facts about the candidates so the voter can decide who is best for office. Encouraging people to read and determine for themselves the candidate qualifications is a good newspaper’s best responsibility.

By encouraging a vote that is your opinion is a miscarriage and an excuse for those too lazy to make up their own minds.
