SR Letter: Endorsements miscarriage, excuse for the lazy

Several weeks ago, readers were asked if they thought it was a good thing for The Spokesman’s editorial board of two to make recommendations for elective offices. The survey showed most people thought it was okay. A newspaper’s responsibility is to provide facts about the candidates so the voter can decide who is best for office. Encouraging people to read and determine for themselves the candidate qualifications is a good newspaper’s best responsibility.
