Trump’s ego a red flag

Regarding “The lesser of two evils”: I have to disagree with some people in referring to their choice of Donald Trump as a lesser of two evils. The most glaring difference in our choices is that they seem to admire Trump for his refusal to “back down from his opinions” right or wrong. I see this as a real negative, even if it were true.

In 82 years, 61 of them involved in voting and studying politicians, I have learned that one of the wisest moves one can make is in changing one’s mind when confronted with evidence that one is wrong. Why would we admire a person who is unwilling to do this?

Secondly, I’m not sure that Trump has wisely formed the opinions that he is postulating. I am a strong believer in forming opinions in a rational way. I’m not sure (well, yes, I am), that Trump is doing this. He seems to be famous for making statements and promises off the cuff. He also tends to contradict himself quite often.

As far as Hillary Clinton is concerned, she may carry some baggage, much of it I believe undeserved, but she would at least give the dignity to the office of president that it deserves. The first woman president would be a finer legacy to the nation than the first narcissistic braggart who makes promises off the cuff, knowing full well that God would be the only “person” who could fulfill such promises.
