Car d’Lane cruises in to CDA
Like a Father’s Day gift for classic car buffs, Car d’Lane returns this weekend with the popular Friday night cruise and Saturday’s Show & Shine in downtown Coeur d’Alene. The cruise, which draws hundreds of cars from 1975 and earlier, will be 6-9 p.m. Friday. Cruisers loop through downtown on Sherman and Lakeside avenues, and on Second and Fourth streets between Sherman and Wallace avenues./ Scott Maben , SR.
Story continues: The National Weather Service forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of showers Friday night, which can keep some car owners from turning out for the cruise.
The car show is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sherman and Lakeside. Saturday’s forecast is for a high of 64 with a 40 percent chance of showers.
“We usually have a large number of cars signing up Friday and early Saturday morning,” said Brian Larson, president of the North Idaho Classic Car Club. “Last year we had over 700 cars in the cruise and 540 in the show, but it was beautiful weather. This year we’re hoping it doesn’t rain, but we might get a little bit.”
