Ignoring Father’s Day

My wife has reminded me three times that Father’s Day is this Sunday. At church, we celebrate the day by asking fathers to pick numbers to win a pie of their choosing. At home, I could care less. I appreciate a call from Junior and Amy Dearest. Otherwise, I celebrate Father’s Day as the one gift-oriented observance of the year that I don’t have to remember. My wife has instructions not to money or energy on getting her something. I’m not her father. And are two fathers are long gone. Which brings up the point:

Question: Do you embrace Father’s Day? Or are you a father, like me, who’s simply glad that it isn’t one of those yearly observances that you have to remember?
