1932 Ford Coupe shines at Car d’Lane

The organizers of Car d’Lane try to avoid giving any one car two awards, but when it comes to the People’s Choice Award, it is out of their hands. The winner of the 2016 People’s Choice, a 1932 Ford Coupe owned by Jon and Kali Budda, also won an award for Best Modified from the 1930s. All the other awards, ranging from Longest Road Trip to Old School Hot Rod, were given to individual recipients. “A lot of the men and women in this hobby put a lot of work into their cars,” said Emily Boyd, event coordinator with the Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association, adding that many have special stories behind their cars. “So when they get recognized for their car it’s special to them.” The Car d’Lane awards, sponsored by Gerber Collision and Glass, are given out each year in order to recognize that hard work, dedication and love those men and women have for their cars/ Mary Malone , Coeur d’Alene Press.
