Giant spud to roll into Post Falls
Don’t panic if you spot a giant potato rolling down the road this week. It’s friendly. The Big Idaho Potato Truck featuring a six-ton faux potato is the star of the Idaho Potato Commission’s national advertising campaign . The big spud measures 28 feet long, 12 feet wide and nearly 12 feet tall. It’s on its fifth cross-country tour spreading the word of Idaho’s famous potatoes. Idaho and Washington are the top-producing potato states. The flatbed truck will stop Wednesday, June 22, 2016, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Super 1 Foods, 805 E. Polston Ave., in Post Falls. For every shopper who signs the truck’s signature board, the commission will donate $1 to the North Idaho Fair & Rodeo Foundation. The titanic tuber will make six more stops in the Inland Northwest this week:
- Thursday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Rosauers, 10618 E. Sprague Ave., Spokane.
- Thursday, 4-7 p.m., Rosauers, 2610 E. 29th Ave., Spokane.
- Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Yoke’s Foothills, 210 E. North Foothills Drive, Spokane.
- Friday, 4-7 p.m., Yokes Liberty Lake, 1233 N. Liberty Lake Road, Liberty Lake.
