Bonner Co sheriff to face write-in foe
Saying he cannot walk away from the responsibility he feels to ensure the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office is more responsive to the county’s citizens, Terry Ford has announced a write-in campaign for sheriff. Ford lost the Republican nomination for the sheriff’s post to incumbent Sheriff Daryl Wheeler, 4,508 to 3,547 — a difference of 961 votes. Wheeler won all precincts except Baldy, Dover and Sandpoint. Ford and Wheeler tied in the Humbird and Selle precincts. Since the election, the retired Idaho State Police trooper said the ongoing support he’s received combined with a strong belief that integrity must be resort to the office lead to his decision to run as a write-in candidate in November’s general election/ Bonner County Bee .
