31-1 NICards get #5 seed

The tournament brackets were released by the NJCAA this afternoon for the 2016 National Men’s Basketball Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas March 14-19. The NIC Cardinals received a No. 5 seed in the 24-team tournament, receiving a first round bye. The Cardinals will play the winner of No. 12 seed Southwest Tennessee (28-4) and No. 21 seed Spartanburg Methodist College from South Carolina (26-6), on Tuesday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. (PST). All games will be played at the Hutchinson Sports Arena and the tournament is single elimination, until the semi-finals. The only consolation bracket game is the third-place game between the semi-final losers. The top eight seeds received a first-round bye. More here.
