Elites created Trump’s movement

In his Saturday column for the Lewiston Tribune, Michael Costello comments:

When Barack Obama and the inevitable Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, both argue that “Islam has nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism,” and then no one on the Republican side can muster the courage to pronounce BS on this nonsense, the door is thrown open for a demagogue. I’m quite confident that history will remember Donald Trump as the most loathsome presidential candidate in living memory. The depths of his ignorance are unfathomable. But just as frightening is the tenacity with which he clings to the prejudices born of that ignorance. More here.
