Network calls Idaho for Cruz

At least one TV network has now called Idaho a win for Ted Cruz in the GOP race, after he led with 41.5 percent of the vote with 47 percent of precincts reporting. Donald Trump was in second place at 29.4 percent; Marco Rubio in third with 18 percent; and John Kasich in fourth with 7.3 percent. Idaho state Treasurer Ron Crane, state chairman for the Cruz campaign, said, “I’m very, very pleased with the results. Idaho turned out for Ted Cruz. I think that he represents the values that Idaho Republican voters believe in. I think he connected with Idahoans – his timing was perfect.” Crane recalled Cruz’s overflowing rally in Coeur d’Alene on Saturday, and “the energy level” there/Betsy Russell, Eye on Boise.
