Breaking Odom fighting extradition
Update: Coeur d’Alene shooting suspect Kyle Odom refused to waive his right to have an extradition hearing in DC, which is scheduled for April 6.
The man accused of shooting a Coeur d’Alene minister Sunday and fleeing to the nation’s capital will appear April 6 at an extradition hearing in District of Columbia Superior Court. Kyle Andrew Odom, wanted on a felony warrant for attempted murder, appeared in the DC court Wednesday afternoon on a charge of being a fugitive from justice. No bond was set at the hearing. Odom, 30, was arrested outside the White House by the Secret Service on Tuesday night. He is wanted in Kootenai County in Sunday’s shooting of Altar Church pastor Tim Remington. “It’s my understanding that there aren’t going to be any charges arising from his conduct in the District of Columbia, and so the hearing today would have been focusing on his extradition and whether he wanted to contest that or waive that,” Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney Barry McHugh said Wednesday/ Scott Maben , SR.
