Wolves abated for a reason

Regarding Frederick Bardelli’s letter “Culture of death claims wolves”: Bardelli compares killing wolves with killing people. He further states that “wolves are struggling to keep their packs alive by killing elk … Idaho wildlife officials, obviously, have no consideration for pain and suffering. They (Fish and Game) glorify the cruel killing of innocent wolves.”

If he is so sure of himself, he should travel to some Washington towns, like Oroville, Northport and Metaline. Go to Nordman, Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry in Idaho (cattle raising country). Stand on a major street in these towns holding a large sign declaring love for the beautiful, struggling wolves.

Just one question: Why did our forefathers eradicate wolves in the first place?
