Kootenai County commissioner races

Here’s a look at the Kootenai County commissioners’ races. The District 2 race could be interesting because some of Commissioner David Stewart’s supporters in his first race for the office have abandoned him. Chris Fillios is a solid conservative who might be in the right place at the right time to take advantage of the shift from Stewart. The four-way race for the second county seat — the one now held by Commissioner Dan Green — might favor Bob Bingham. Bingham is the founder of the North West Property Owners Alliance, which has such politically active individuals as Brent Regan, Jeremy Morris, Jeff Tyler and Jennifer Locke. I wonder whether Rathdrum Councilman Fred Meckel and attorney Duane Rasmussen will appeal to the same group of conservative voters and split the vote in favor of Bingham. I haven’t heard of candidate Leslie Duncan before now.
