Because You Asked …

After reading the Huckleberries Online interview with GOPrimary candidate Paul Amador from House District 4A, Jennifer Locke asks: “I asked this on Twitter already, but I am curious how Paul can take 3 to 4 months off from his current job to be a legislator. Will the University of Idaho pay him for those 3 to 4 months he will be serving in Boise?” I forwarded the question to Paul. Here’s his answer:

Paul Amador: “The University will grant an unpaid leave of absence to serve in the Legislature, not unlike taking a leave of absence to serve in the military. This is a both a good and fair question, it was certainly a topic of conversation with both my family for the commitment I was taking on, as well as how it would affect my employment with my supervisor and our human resources department.”
