Sanders wins Idaho Dem caucuses with 78 percent

When all the county caucuses were done, Bernie Sanders won Idaho’s Democratic presidential caucuses last night with 78 percent of the vote, according to the Associated Press. Hillary Clinton trailed with just 21 percent. One percent went to “uncommitted,” and Rocky De La Fuente got zero percent.

The Idaho Democratic Party sent out this statement: “The turnout was a record, nearly 24,000 people. This year’s caucus turnout beat the previous best, which was in 2008 at about 21,000. Sanders prevailed in the state with 18,640; Clinton with 5,065.”

The AP reports that Sanders won 17 of Idaho’s delegates, while Clinton got 5. No delegates were awarded to uncommitted or De La Fuente.
