Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre director Jadd Davis remembers Patty Duke:
Patty Duke (Anna Pearce) was the first person I met with in Coeur d’Alene when I accepted the job at CST. At the
time, the theatre was in its nadir of popularity in the court of CDA’s public opinion, and I was feeling terrified to take on the weight of rebuilding, lost friends, new directions, etc. We met for dinner at Fire in downtown CDA, and all we did was geek out about theatre and the arts in general. We laughed and got excited about stuff, and she told naughty stories a
nd I didn’t feel alone.
I totally forgot that I was coming into a scary situation — it just felt like I had made a friend. And not just a friend, but someone who had a fire inside that reached out to others in her presence.
