Wild Card/Tuesday — 3.29.16

I’m looking at my autographed copy of Patty Duke’s teen record album, “Don’t Just Stand There,” as I write this. As a kid, I watched “The Patty Duke Show” religiously. I read her book, “Call Me Anna,” as an adult, which detailed her emotional and mental struggles growing up. I admired the way she embraced Coeur d’Alene and the Inland Northwest after moving here. She gave much to this community through her incredible acting talent. Now she’s gone. So unexpectedly. The sun is shining. But this is a sad spring day in the Lake City.
