‘Freedom Index’ prizes worst legislators
We’ve all learned by now that up is down and down is up when it comes to the so-called “Freedom Index” of Wayne Hoffman’s Idaho Freedom Foundation. In other words, a legislator scoring high in the “Freedom Index” actually is a legislator who should be considered among the worst by everyone else. Case in point, state Rep. Heather Scott, R-Blanchard. The Confederate flag-waving Scott landed one of two A+ from the Freedom Index. Perhaps a legislator increases her chances for a perfect score from Wayne & Co. by visiting the Malheur Wildlife Refuge during a siege involving federal agents? Nine A grades were handed out by IFF, seven of which went to North Idaho legislators: Scott, Sage Dixon, Steve Vick, Bob Nonini, Kathy Sims, Sheryl Nuxoll and Shannon McMillan. The list is a rogue’s gallery of legislators who seemingly voted no on every worthy issue involving average Idahoans/ DFO.
