Women’s primitive skills workship features tepees, muzzloaders

CAMPING — The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program is sponsoring a muzzleloading and primitive skills weekend workshop just west of Thompson Falls on June 4-5.  Register now at fwp.mt.gov.

Participants will experience a 1800s style mountain man camp and learn to shoot a muzzleloader, throw tomahawks, start a fire with flint and steel and how to cook in a Dutch oven.

The course fee of $85 includes two nights camping and a few meals.  A limited number of spaces are available to sleep in a tepee, lean-to or wall tent for an additional $15.
