Bad images at Bloomsday

Bloomsday is a family friendly, positive, upbeat experience that brings people from all over the world to Spokane. The vast majority of the spectators (from the kids’ rock band to the old lady waving from her window) are just as enthusiastic as the Bloomies.

However, there were two groups along the course who did not share in our enjoyment and seemed intent upon dragging everyone down: the God Hates You group and the Nasty Abortion Pictures group.

We live in a free country, and these people have the right to their own opinions. They do not, however, have a right to harass people or force obscene images on others, and this applies even more at an event with so many children.

My mother always said, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.” God Hates You and Nasty Abortion Pictures groups, this applies to you. If you can’t share our spirit, at least keep your vitriol to yourselves. Better yet, just stay home and let us run in peace.
