Everson’s closing after 70 years
After 70 years in downtown Coeur d’Alene, third-generation Everson’s Jewelry is closing. It started in 1946 when brothers Ken and Clair Everson bought a jewelry store where the Wells Fargo Bank is now at Third and Sherman. Ken, a watchmaker, had returned to his hometown after World War II. The store later moved to where the Pita Pit headquarters is now at Fourth Street and to its current location at 310 Sherman in 1973. The retiring owners are Bill and Gary Everson. Fourteen other family members have worked in the store./ Nils Rosdahl, CDA Press. More here .
