Hearn sets fundraiser Thursday
Democrat Tom Hearn, a trustee on the Coeur d’Alene School Board, has scheduled a fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Coeur d’Alene Cellars. Hearn is seeking support from a wide range of groups and individuals including those who support public education, improvements to medical and mental health care, protecting public lands and raising the minimum wage. In a press release, Hearn said he will face a tough campaign against Republican nominee Paul Amador for the seat now held by state Rep. Kathy Sims, R-Coeur d’Alene: “”Although historically Coeur d’Alene was represented by moderate and conservative Democrats in the legislature, in recent years it has been represented by Republicans. But the people in Coeur d’Alene are thoughtful and very independent and I am confident that if people focus on the candidate and their qualifications, and not the party, I will be elected this November.”
