Final round blues

The bee began with more than 280 kids testing their spelling acumen, but Thursday’s final rounds will feature just 45 would-be champions. The 89th Scripps National Spelling Bee wil crown a new champion tonight, which viewers can watch on ESPN. The bee awards more than $40,000 in cash and prizes. The youngest speller competing, at just 6 years old, did not advance to the final rounds/St. Louis Post Dispatch. More here.
