Move on after election

Please take a minute and imagine it is Nov. 9th. The election is over. All votes are counted. No more yelling about inappropriate sexual behavior, improper use of emails and all the other extraneous discussions. Unfortunately, your candidate lost. It may have been in the primaries, but it doesn’t matter. The election is over. Take a deep breath. You are disappointed. You are sad. But the election is over.

In another four years, we get to go through it again and before that time maybe you can help your candidate prepare to win. But it is over. The reason I stress that the election is over is to calm nerves. The rhetoric of “conspiracy,” “back room deals” and putting a candidate in jail no longer applies.

Do not continue the fight. Do not let your disappoint roll over into violence. This is America and we have just had an election. Now move on in peace.
