Lake City designates election only parking

A portion of East Poplar Avenue near the Kootenai County Elections Office has been turned into temporary “Election Only” parking as many community members participate in early voting. Kootenai County’s Election Office has limited parking, and many people are choosing to cast their ballots in this year’s election earlier than November 8. Because of this, the county has seen substantial impact to voters’ ability to park at the office in order to participate. After experiencing the large amount of traffic, the county sought assistance from the City. East Poplar Avenue between 3 ^rd and 4 ^th streets (map below) will be closed to normal parking, and instead will only be for those who are trying to participate in early voting. The temporary closure to general parking will be lifted at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the conclusion of early voting/ Deputy City Administrator Sam Taylor , city of Coeur d’Alene.
