Election Day Wild Card — 11.8.16

As I see the ha-huge turnout before and at the polls this year, I wonder why this isn’t the norm rather than the exception. Voting is such an incredible privilege. If anything, the vote in the presidential race is one of the least important. Idaho and its 4 electoral votes (including Jennifer Locke) will go for Trump. Washington for Hillary. Down ballot, we have races that will affect us as much or more — county, legislative, North Idaho College. The ha-huge turnout in a ruby-red area favors anyone with an R after their name. I’d like to think that doesn’t hold true in the Scott-McAlister race. But I’m not optimistic in Deliverance, er, Bonner/Boundary counties.
