Apology to our children

I don’t like writing about political things, but I need to voice my opinion of the travesty that has befallen a nation I used to respect. I’ve never been more ashamed of my country. I used to love this country and it’s progress in my lifetime, but it appears any inroads we’ve made will be swept away as we become a country that fosters hate and rewards the biggest racists, bigots and misogynists for their actions.

I apologize to our children and to the rest of the world. In my opinion, we will look back to November 8, 2016, and remember the day we elected the next Hitler.

I’ve seen this man sow hatred, misogyny, homophobia, bigotry throughout the country and somehow become elected as president. I believe this man and his temper will be the cause of World War III. This man, who jokes about sexual assault, then says it’s just “locker room talk,” like every man talks about committing sexual assault. We don’t.

I’m sorry for my country and what’s to become of it, and apologize to everyone for what’s to come from this new century’s biggest misstep.
