St Vinny’s opens warming center
Executive director Jeff Conroy of St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho writes:
With the extreme cold weather, St Vincent de Paul’s Warming Center opened Wednesday evening and will be open again this evening. Future nights will be extended as extreme cold persists. As the sub-30 degree temperatures continue, St Vincent’s shelters will always be open from 7 p.m.-7 a.m. Transportation will be leaving from Father Bill’s Kitchen, at St Vinny’s campus, at 6:30 p.m.
The Post Falls Shelter located at 202 W. 7th Street in Post Falls, behind the Post Falls St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, in the Kamps Apartment basement. The Post Falls location is able to shelter 45 individuals, and the CdA site can house 45 more. The Warming Center will have available sleeping bags, blankets, gloves, stocking caps, coats, a full bathroom, warm food and drinks.
A huge Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to donate sleeping bags, blankets, and food. Everything has been so appreciated by those we serve.
Because of the need St Vincent de Paul is accepting donations of warm food at both locations. If you are able to help or donate please contact Warming Center Coordinator Scott Parker at 208-416-4127
