Wild Card/Thursday — 11.17.16

I no longer can avoid it. Birthday No. 67 is dead ahead, on Sunday. I was born on a Sunday, early in the morning, between 1:30 - 3 o’clock. When I started in the news biz, I was only 20. I worked full time at the Chico (Calif.) Enterprise-Record while finishing my full-time college courses at Chico State. I thought at the time that it would be swell if I lasted in the business for 50 years, retiring at 70. 50 is a nice, round number. It certainly isn’t unattainable at this point. I’m not planning to pull the plug on this career in the near future. So you’ll have me to kick around a little while longer. Here’s your Thursday Wild Card …
