How can we not protest?

Our mayor is proud of us Spokanites for not protesting the election in the streets. Really? For a long time, Donald Trump spouted his unmitigated vulgarities, and we did not protest. To the contrary, the country ignored his inhumanity and elected him to be our leader. The country bought the whole package, we own it now, and the whole world is watching in disbelief.

And we are not protesting now. And proud of it?

Sure, we have to accept the election result, but we do not have to accept the way it was achieved. We don’t have to accept the stream of lying and hate-mongering, lest it become the new norm. We have to protest in any way we can. Obviously, Donald Trump is not a civilized man, and the question is, are we a civilized nation? If we are, can we sit still?
