Homeowners on the South Hill who noticed a man in their parked vehicle late Tuesday chased down the suspected thief and disarmed him of a replica handgun, police said.

Officers were called to the area near 29th Avenue and Howard Street just before 10 p.m., Spokane police said in a news release.

A woman told investigators she discovered the man in her car after she noticed a light on inside her vehicle and went outside to turn it off. She called for her husband and dialed 911, and they chased after the man. They caught up with him and detained him. Police said at one point the man displayed a replica handgun, but the homeowners disarmed him/ SR . More here.
