Huckleberries hears …
That our wacky local precinct committee men & woman passed a resolution calling on the Secretary of State to investigate threats or intimidation aimed at Idaho’s 4 electors for President-elect Donald Trump. Seems the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee was huffing and puffing last night as a result of news reports — the real ones, not the fake ones — that hot & bothered Trump opponents from around the nation, including Idaho, are harassing electors, like Hayden’s Jennifer Locke, with calls and emails. Jennifer has told Huckleberries that the chance of her switching her vote is less than a snowball’s chance in hell. But local Republicans weren’t going to take this outrage sitting down. They had to resolve. That’s what folks with too much time on their hands and an over-dose of self-importance do. Resolve. Last night, they passed a resolution, citing Idaho Code 18-2305, which forbids people from trying to coerce or influence the votes of electors. (Too bad this code doesn’t apply to political action committees.) Long and short? The Central Committee wants Secretary of State Lawerence Denney to investigate all possible violations of this code. As if he doesn’t have better things to do.
