Demonstrate love, kindness

If you claim to be a Democrat, or forward thinker, then quit moping, wipe your tears and hold your head up high. Don’t let this defeat you. Instead humble yourself and keep an open mind.

I get it. I don’t like it either, and I am scared too. Scared because we are in uncharted waters, scared for my children and what their futures will be like. I am scared because there is so much blind hate and rage in people’s hearts, and I am scared that, as a nation, we have become so divided over this.

It is clear that nothing can or will ever get better if we don’t work together and demonstrate love, kindness and tolerance to those around us, even if opinions differ. Because if we don’t, this change will get the better of us.

Maybe it will still end in disaster and destruction, and the differences will become too great, but remember that just because it may feel like we are moving backwards, doesn’t mean that we are on the same backward path, and just because we move forward, doesn’t that we are going in the right direction.
