Obama repudiated

As usual, Leonard Pitts’ post-election rant (Nov. 14) completely misses the point.

After two years of Obama’s hard-left “fundamental transformation of America” policies, alarmed voters handed him a shellacking in the 2010 midterm election and returned the House of Representatives to Republicans in an attempt to block further damage. Undaunted, Obama pressed on with his leftist ideology - and Republicans told us they needed to win the Senate to stop him.

In 2014, we gave them the Senate in unprecedented landslide numbers. In both midterms, Republicans won big down the ballot in House, gubernatorial and state legislative races as well. Again, ignoring the voters’ will, Obama told us he had a “pen and a phone” as he continued his unconstitutional executive overreach.

Republicans told us they now needed to win the White House to finally stop all of this.

We voted to do exactly that - the final referendum and repudiation of three on this failed president, his policies and his radical extremism. While Trump may not have been our best candidate, voters were clearly not interested in a third Obama third term via another lying, dishonest, left-wing ideologue with a long and sordid history.
