Cuba dictator Castro dies
A woman hands out a special edition of the Miami Herald with the headline “Castro Dead,” in front of the Versailles Restaurant in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami as members of the Cuban community react to the death of Fidel Castro, Saturday. Castro, who led a rebel army to improbable victory in Cuba, embraced Soviet-style communism and defied the power of 10 U.S. presidents during his half century rule, died at age 90. Story here. Cubans lined up for hours Monday to begin saying goodbye to Fidel Castro in a hushed procession that was tightly choreographed by the government. In three columns, they shuffled past a series of identical floral memorials, topped with a portrait of the bearded leader as a young guerrilla fighter gazing out across the mountains, a rifle slung over his shoulder. A few Cubans stopped to salute the images or snap pictures on their cellphones before quickly moving on. The tribute had a dutiful feel, and nothing was left to chance/ Washington Post . More here.
Question: What will become of Cuba now?
