Bob Bingham, a Republican candidate for Kootenai County commissioner is playing hard to get re: a candidates’ forum in Athol on Oct. 12. Huckleberries has learned from a forum official that Bingham was asked face-to-face to attend the forum. But he still hasn’t responded, as the forum draws ever closer. “All the other candidates have been very appreciative and thankful for my effort to organize this opportunity for them to speak with the voters,” the official told Huckleberries this afternoon. Bingham is the only candidate in a contested race who hasn’t responded to the invitation. Independent Russ McLain is running against Bingham for the Kootenai County seat being vacated by Dan Green.
